Ethiopian MoI implements New Export Trade Incentive Directive

Ethiopian Ministry of Industry announced that it has put in effect the new export trade incentive directive.

Ministry Public Relations and Communication Directorate Director, Melaku Taye, told WIC, the new directive is aimed to help boost export trade performance.

Moreover, the new directive will also enables to give efficient service to the business community and allows them to create network among themselves, he said.

The new directive will also help to provide the necessary support to producers and exporters, he added.

Horticulture Exhibition Opens in Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) launched the 5th International Horti-Flora 2013 Exhibition at the Millennium Hall  on March 20 in Addis Ababa.

Association President Zelalem Melese said, the exhibition is a good platform to create market linkage, exchange ideas and develop new trends as well as discuss challenges and opportunities in the horticulture industry.

“This year, we would like to use the occasion to celebrate our successes and the growth that the industry has made in such a short span of time. Most of the credit goes to the government for its leadership in exploring market opportunities locally and at the international level as well. In the past two years, we have made great stride in the industry in terms of expanding the sub-sector,” Zelalem said.

TAF Oil Inaugurated its First Fuel Station in Addis Ababa

TAF Oil PLC opened its first fuel station in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The station is located in Mekanissa area. The opening ceremony was held on Saturday, March 9. TAF is planning  to open eight additional fuel stations in Tigray, Amhara, Oromia and Gambella Regional states of Ethiopia.

TAF was established in 2008 by three  with 56.3 million birr authorized capital. TAF Oil commenced operations in January 2011 in Gelan, Oromia Special zone. In less than two years TAF has increased the number of its fuel stations to 18, located in the capital and  different regional states. Add a comment Add a comment

Anbessa City Bus to Introduce E-ticketing

The Addis Ababa City Administration Transport Bureau is to introduce electronic ticketing (e-ticketing) for the Anbessa City Buses. The new system is in response to problems related to ticket issuance.

The new electronic ticketing system will replace the existing paper tickets that need to be purchased for each fare and each bus used. The e-ticketing system will allow commuters to use one pass ticket for multiple travelers. Add a comment Add a comment
