Addis International Bank Awards Contract for Technology Upgrade

Ethiopia's Addis International Bank awarded Seven Seas Technologies, a Data Center and Network System company, a contract to develop the design, installation and commissioning of a state of the art data and audit center. It was stated that the bank will facilitate the installation and upgrading of the network.

The technology Seven Seas Technologies will be providing are set to lay the foundation for the integration of the core ICT system to enable the bank to communicate and operate with improved effectiveness and efficiency.

Seven Seas Technologies will be working in partnership with another company called Net & Com to deliver the solutions to the bank.

“Seven Seas Technologies, in partnership with Net & Com, has previously deployed transformational solutions to different banks such as the Bank of Abyssinia, United and Dashen Banks. It is thus very conversant with the Ethiopian market and would employ similarly high standards to deliver on this project,” said Pius Busera, Intelligent Infrastructure Managing Director of Seven Seas Technologies.

Addis International Bank, the first Ethiopian bank to launch mobile banking services in Ethiopia, started operations in June 2011 with 5,000 shareholders, which include 647 cooperatives and 157 local community help associations.
