Ethiopian Business Delegation Visited Israel

A 12 member Ethiopian business delegation  took part in a host of business seminars and discussions in Israel.

The visit was organized to introduce Israel's technology and businesses to Ethiopia through partnership with Ethiopian businesses. Businesses in agro-industry, automotive, hotel and tourism, energy and manufacturing  industry, among others, were involved in the visit.

The Ethiopian delegation said, the visit further enhances existing relations between businesses of the two countries. The visit intends to identify companies that can invest in Ethiopian energy generation and distribution sector.

The trading exchange between the two friendly countries has now reached around 83 million dollars.

ESTA Inaugurated Community Tourism Destinations

Through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Ethiopian Sustainable Tourism Alliance (ESTA) project with funding from the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the new community-based tourism sites in Lephis and Ziway are inaugurated  in Oromia Regional State.

The sites were developed to present natural and historic attractions and activities in an Eco-friendly manner that will maximize the benefit for the local community.

MTN to Launch Young Women Innovative Award Program

MTN Ethiopia, African mobile operator announced the launch of prize award programs to promote young Ethiopian women's innovation and business ideas in cooperation with Addis Ababa University.

Asseco Poland Looking for Ethiopian Partners

Asseco, a Polish software company is to partner with Ethiopian information technology companies to establish a software developing company in Ethiopia. Asseco is  Europe's seventh largest software developing company.

“Our focus is it to expand in Africa, particularly Ethiopia,” Dariusz Brzeski, member of the company's supervisory board, said.

Aksher Ethiopia Establishing Animal By-product Processing Plant

Aksher Ethiopia, a Turkish investors owned company is establishing an animal by-product processing plant and abattoir at a cost of 196 million Birr in Ethiopia.

The animal by-product processing plant will be erected on a 2,300sqm plot of land located in Lome Wereda, near Modjo town, while additional 2000 sqm of land will be used to construct abattoir.

The company acquired the land from the government on a 40 year lease agreement. The processing plant will collect animal by products from abattoirs throughout Ethiopia, including, Hawassa, Jimma, Dire Dawa, Harar, Mekelle, Bahir Dar, Gonder, Dessie and other towns.
