Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, will benefit from a COVID-19 prevention project the city administration is putting in place to protect the people of the city, the administration announced. As part of the project, 1.2 million residents of Addis will receive sanitation and hygienic supplies in varying amounts based on their family sizes. Awareness creation about the pandemic will also be part of the project.

Ethiopia has already completed the first round of filling of the reservoir of its megaproject, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) on the Blue Nile, Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia declared.
The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) said it has awarded 12 road projects to local and foreign contractors.
Over 171 km long roads have been constructed and made operational in Addis Ababa in the recently concluded Ethiopian fiscal year. The Authority pointed out it has been building twelve road projects at a cost of 9.8 billion birr. The road projects are aimed at enhancing smooth traffic flow and increasing access in the city.
