Over 171 km long roads have been constructed and made operational in Addis Ababa in the recently concluded Ethiopian fiscal year. The Authority pointed out it has been building twelve road projects at a cost of 9.8 billion birr. The road projects are aimed at enhancing smooth traffic flow and increasing access in the city.
In the upcoming year, the Authority plans to build 167.3 Km roads at various levels.
Major roads the construction of which is underway include an 84-km stretch from Pushkin Square to Gotera Interchange, and from Autobus Terra to Mesalemiya, which link a number of districts in Addis.
