Ethiopian Airlines has been awarded by The African Airlines Association for registering the best financial results in 2010 and 
consistent profitability over the years.
Ethiopian Airlines was recognized with the award at the 43rd AFRAA Annual General Assembly held in Marrakesh, Morocco last week.
Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia’s flag carrier, has awarded a seven year contract for Integrated Component Solutions services to the Boeing 737NG fleet to Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, the largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul service provider in the Middle East and a part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network.
The contract covers a total of 19 aircraft, eleven of which are the fleet of B737NG aircraft and eight new aircraft on order.
ADAT will provide repair cycle management and pool access coverage supported by the combined Integrated Component Solutions experience and capabilities of ADAT and SR Technics.
Ethiopian Airlines honored travel agencies and tour operators for their exceptional contributions to the growth of tourism and the economy of Ethiopia. The award ceremony, themed "Celebrating Partnership with Renewed Commitment," was attended by Alemu Sime, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Nasise Chali, the Minister of Tourism, Mesfin Tasew, the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, and representatives from various travel agencies and tour operators.
Brand Finance named Ethiopian Airlines the fastest-growing airline brand globally, as the company announced the world's top 50 most valuable and strongest airline brands. The company’s 2023 report on the most valuable and strongest airline brands shows that Ethiopian Airlines, which is Africa's largest passenger and cargo carrier, has experienced a growth of 79%. It values the brand of the Ethiopian flag carrier to be USD 498 million.
Ethiopian Airlines has put in a bid to acquire shares in Air Malawi in response from a recent request for expressions of interest for partial acquisition put out by the Government of Malawi.
Companies interested in the offer were to submit their proposals to the Malawi Privatization Authority had explained Patrick E. Chilambe, CEO of Air Malawi speaking at 44th General Assembly of the African Airlines Association, held in Johannesburg last week.
The government of Malawi expects to establish a consortium with the new parties acquiring a 49 percent stake while it retains a 51 percent interest.
