The Ethiopian Agricultural Corporation announced that it generated more than USD 1.64 million in revenue from the export of incense products during the completed 2024/25 fiscal year.

According to the Corporation's Communications and Social Responsibility Manager, Ghashaw Ayyilulum, a total of 2,505 quintals of incense were exported to markets in China, Dubai, Greece, Tunisia, and Turkey.

In addition to exports, the corporation earned more than Birr 7.71 million from supplying 260 quintals of incense to the domestic market.

Ghashaw noted that the corporation’s performance in 2024/25 was superior to the previous fiscal year and emphasized that more than 90 percent of incense production is slated for export.

However, he acknowledged that illegal trade and other sector challenges have hindered Ethiopia from fully capitalizing on the economic potential of its natural resin and incense.

Looking ahead, the corporation plans to export 2,510 quintals of incense products in the 2025/26 fiscal year, aiming to further boost foreign currency earnings from the sector.
