Africa’s largest airline group, Ethiopian Airlines has marked the commencement of its new services to Conakry, the capital of The Republic of Guinea, at a reception ceremony held on February 2, at Addis Ababa Bole Airport.

Ethiopia’s flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, took delivery of the third Airbus A350, which it named ErtAle after the volcano lake in Afar State. It was in June and August that the airline took delivery of the first 2 Airbuses. This is out of the total 11 it ordered.
Addis International Bank, one of the late entrants to Ethiopia’s finance market, registered an impressive 46 percent growth in profit and managed to generate 85.3 million Birr in the past fiscal year. The earnings per share has also increased by 3.2 percent and reached 193 Birr for a thousand Birr share.

Ethiopia’s flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, disclosed it plans to substitute imported products used for in flight catering service by products produced locally. The airline held discussions on the matter with Food and Pharmaceuticals Development Institute, Meat and Dairy Development Institute and other stakeholders on January 31, 2017.
Government Houses Agency disclosed it managed to generate an income close to 150 million Birr in the first 6 months of the current fiscal year. The performance is 12 percent lower than the preceding year’s same period.
