Ethiopia: Institute Distributed 82 Agricultural Technologies and Recommendation

Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) disclosed it extended 82 agricultural technologies and recommendations to users in Ethiopia during the first 6 months of the current fiscal year.

During the period, the institute gave various trainings to farmers in the aim of equipping them with the technology and newly invented agricultural researches. According to the Communication Directorate Director at the Institute, Fisseha Zegeye, the Institute trained 23,920 farmers while the target was 21,790 farmers.

In addition to these, the Institute imported and distributed pest resisting cotton seeds to improve Ethiopia’s cotton production. According to Walta Information Center; Worer, Tendaho, Asaita, Amote, Wuyto, Assosa and Pawe are among the areas where demonstration works were undertaken.

EIAR plans to undertake 586 agricultural researches and recommendations for the current fiscal year.
