Ethiopia is set to build an agro-processing industry park in Bure for which the Prime Minister, Hailemariam Dessalegn, laid the cornerstone on February 2, 2017.
Speaking at the event, Hailemariam said Ethiopia has worked on shifting from agricultural led economy to industrial one to strengthen and sustain the bond between the agricultural and industrial sectors.
The newly to be constructed industrial park, would be a model for the government’s desire to move to industrial led economy.
The Premier also called on stakeholders to give due attention to supplying the necessary raw materials in order to make the industrial park a success.
The construction of Bure Industrial Park was scheduled to be completed this year, with all the necessary infrastructural facilities to enable investors to begin production, the Prime Minister added.
The industrial park, according to Fana Broadcasting Corporation, will have facilities such as model agro-processing buildings, warehouses, laboratories, a one-stop-shop, residential units and a training center.
State Minister for Industry, Dr. Mebrhatu Meles, on his part noted 4 agro-processing parks would be established in Amhara, Oromia, Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples and Tigray states.
