Ethiopia: Inflation Rose Above 10 Percent

Central Statistics Agency (CSA) disclosed Ethiopia’s year-on-year inflation for the month of February reached 7 percent from 6.1 percent in January.
Central Statistics Agency (CSA) disclosed Ethiopia’s inflation rate has risen to 8.2 percent in the month of February. The Agency attributed this to the higher prices of food items such as vegetables, fruits and meat.
Central Statistics Agency disclosed Ethiopia’s year-on-year inflation has increased to 8.7 percent in May from 8.6 percent, where it stood in the previous month.
Installation work of a factory that manufactures concrete sleepers has begun in Ethiopia. The factory will produce sleepers for the 216 kilometers Meqele – Woldiya railway project and it will have the capacity to manufacture 1,000 sleepers a day.
