Central Statistics Agency (CSA) disclosed Ethiopia’s inflation rate has risen to 8.2 percent in the month of February. The Agency attributed this to the higher prices of food items such as vegetables, fruits and meat.
The annual inflation during the month of January was 7.7 percent.
According to CSA food inflation has risen to 9.6 percent in February from 7.1 percent, where it was the previous month. On the other hand non – food inflation rate has dropped to 6.8 percent from 8.2 percent.
Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) the Federal Government has managed to lower the inflation rate to a single digit during the Growth and Transformation Plan period.
