Ethiopia: Electric Cable Manufacturing Factory to be Built in Gondar

A new electric cable manufacturing factory is set to be built in Gondar city. The factory, which will be constructed by Jantekel Warka Trade Co., S.C., will cost Birr 300 million.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics has announced the successful implementation of the electronic fuel payment system. The system offers multiple payment options, including Tele Birr, CBE Birr, Fuel app, and Copay-ebirr and has facilitated over Birr 24 billion in transactions nationwide and is currently being used in 1,317 gas stations across the country. Over 10 million electronic fuel transactions have been conducted using these payment options since the system's national implementation.
Protesters burnt down corn farm owned by ELFORA Agro-Industries PLC, subsidiary of MIDROC Group. The farm was located in West Arsi Zone, Oromia State, Ethiopia. According to Fortune, the farm was torched on November 9, 2017 an hour after mid night.
Ethio Leather Industry PLC (ELICO), a subsidiary of MIDROC Ethiopia, inagurated a new shoes factory on September 7, 2013.
The factory, built at a cost of 83 million Ethiopian birr, is expected to produce 1,000 shoes a day.
