Boeing's Africa office, based in Addis Ababa, will officially begin operations in October 2024, according to Henok Teferra, Managing Director of Boeing Africa. The American aerospace company chose Ethiopia for its African headquarters due to the nation's achievements in aviation and its status as a continental hub.

Global aerospace leader Boeing has officially launched its new Africa office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, marking a step in its long-term strategy to support the continent’s aviation growth and economic transformation.
Ethiopian Airlines announced that the Bole Airport new passenger terminal, which is being constructed at a cost of USD 345 million in the east and west directions of the airport’s existing terminal, had started a partial service provision. The airline is constructing the new terminal as part of an expansion project which is being undertaken to ease congestion at the existing terminal and properly serve the ever increasing passengers. Upon completion, the terminal will have the capacity to accommodate 20 million passengers per year while the existing terminal’s capacity is only 11 million.
Terminal I of Bole International Airport, which was built by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), has become operational. The terminal is situated on 16,689 square meters of land and is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ expansion project.
