Ethiopia Secures $668Mn in Foreign Remittance in Two Months
Ethiopia has secured over $668 million in remittance in two months, the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency announced. Selamawit Dawit, Director-General of the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency, noted that Ethiopia plans to obtain $4 billion during the Ethiopian fiscal year that started July 8, 2021.
Ethiopia announced it has secured over $676 million during the first two months of the Ethiopian fiscal year that started July 8, 2021, surpassing its target of $643 million for the period by over 5 percent.
Ethiopia has collected $90 million in revenues from the export of electricity to its neighbors Sudan and Djibouti in the Ethiopian fiscal year recently ended on July 7, 2021, Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) related.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Agriculture said it has collected $906 million from coffee export in the Ethiopian fiscal year concluded on July 7, 2021.
Ethiopia's Minister of Revenues has collected 196.7 billion birr in seven months, the Minister said. The amount stands at 92.45 percent of the target set for the period.
