Ethio-Germany business to business forum was held in Ethiopia on November 16, 2016. The forum aimed at promoting business and create market linkage between 36 local businesses and 20 German companies.

In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Ethiopia earned 67.59 million USD from the export of gold and gemstones, Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas disclosed.

Wegagen Bank announced it has bagged a gross profit of 478.5 million Birr, which is 375.6 million Birr after tax, in the last fiscal year. The bank’s profit shows an increase of 26 million Birr when compared to its performance in 2014/2015.

Ethiopia expects 2 industrial parks that are under construction currently to be ready for investors by February 2017. The industrial parks Kombolcha and Mekele industrial parks.

Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) has made a procurement of spare parts that is worth 1 billion USD. The spare parts are for power plants.

Ethiopia’s export revenue from oil seeds, pulses and spices took another hit for a third consecutive year as global price falls. The export revenue suffered from the consistent global prices fall which the Ministry of Trade (MoT) and commodity exports plan to avert it by expanding export volume and meeting export targets.
