In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Ethiopia earned 67.59 million USD from the export of gold and gemstones, Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas disclosed.

In the said period, 996.5 kilogram of gold, 95.7 kilogram of raw opal and 52.8 kilogram value added opal were exported. In addition to this 174,800 Kilograms of other gemstones were exported.
