Ethiopia: Kombolcha – Mile Road Completed

Hyosung Corporation, a South Korean company, and Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) inked an agreement for the construction of the Southern Electricity Grid Expansion Project. EEP also signed an agreement with another South Korean company, Byucksan Power Co. Ltd., for consultation services on the project.
Hyosung Corporation will be engaged in building new power transmission lines and distribution stations on the Southern Electricity Grid. It is also expected to build a 420KM long electricity transmission line and construct, test, and inspect three new substations.
Korea Exim Bank will provide a loan of USD 178 million which fully covers the budget of the project. EEP stated that the project was planned to be completed in three years.

An award ceremony was held by Horn of Africa Regional Environment Center and Network (HoA-REC&N) in Ethiopia for the “park architecture and landscape design completion” of the Koshe area rehabilitation project. The project is a joint project between the Addis Ababa City Administration and HOA-REC&N.
Boston Partners Plc, owner of Kuriftu Resorts, is set to construct new resort outside of Ethiopia, Djibouti. The resort is going to be built on Musha Iseland, a small island off the coast of Djibouti.

Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC has announced its gold mining plant will begin commissioning by the end of 2025, with full-scale commercial production starting in 2026. The project, located in Benishangul-Gumuz State, is Ethiopia’s largest mining initiative and a key player in the region’s mining industry.
