Kombolcha – Mile road project, which stretches for 133 kilometers and connects Amhara and Afar states, has been completed 4 years after its start construction.

The road project was undertaken by 2 Chinese construction companies. The road was built in 2 segments: Kombolcha – Burak and Burka – Mile stretching for 60 kilometers and 73 kilometers respectively.

Commenting on the development Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) Communication Director, Samson Wondimu, said the road would significantly cut the distance and tme when compared to the other route from Kombolcha to Mile.

The road project was finalized a year later to the original schedule, which was 3 years, Samson added. It consumed 2.8 billion Birr, he explained.
