Ethiopia: Kuriftu to Be Built in Djibouti

kuriftuBoston Partners Plc, owner of Kuriftu Resorts, is set to construct new resort outside of Ethiopia, Djibouti. The resort is going to be built on Musha Iseland, a small island off the coast of Djibouti.

The resort is expected to cost Boston Partners USD Seven Million and it is expected to go operational in a year time. When it finally open to customers, the resort is going ot have 30 presidential suits, two villas and 120 rooms.

Tadiwos Getachew Belete, shareholder of Boston Partners, explained the island is going to serve tourists who visit Ethiopia and Djibouti a combination of natural, historic and cultural heritages of Ethiopia with a "blue sea, white sand and sea food" in Djibouti.

Currently Boston Partners own and operate a total of six resorts and restaurants across Ethiopia. They are situated at in the capital city, Debre Zeit, Bahir Dar, Burayu, Adama and Ziway.

According to Tadiwos, his company is intending to enter the hospitality market of every African country and expand the Kuriftu Resorts to other East African countries.

In the aim of achieving this goal, it entered to a contract with USD 50 Million agreement with the US based Fairfax Africa Fund back in August 2012. The agreement was concluded to help Boston Partners own and operate hotels and resorts in East African countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Djibouti.
