Ethio Telecom and Awash Bank have introduced new digital finance and device financing services on the Telebirr platform, offering customers access to loans without the need for collateral.

Ethio Telecom announced that it had signed an agreement with CNET Software Technologies for the implementation of Telebirr and CNET integrated payment system. The agreement will allow the customers of supermarkets, companies in entertainment and hospitality service, hospitals, pharmacies, and cafes which are partners of CNET Technologies to pay service charges using Telebirr.
Ethio Telecom concluded financing and framework agreement with Ericsson on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, for the upgrade work of the telecom’s network capacity and performance. The network upgrade work is particularly going to be focused on mobile communication and related services.

Ethio Telecom announced that it was implementing a new 3 year strategy called Lead starting from July 01, 2022 with the aim of providing services beyond connectivity, enabling inclusive growth by providing digital and financial services, and simplifying the daily activities of organizations and individuals. The new strategy substituted the telecom’s strategy named Bridge which was implemented between 2019 and 2022.
Bridge was designed to meet the market dynamism, reshaping and leading the company with a competitive mindset with the ultimate aim of making it a preferred operator.
