Ethiopia: Council Approves Budget for Next Fiscal Year

Council of Ministers approves 223.3 billion Birr Ethiopia’s budget for the coming fiscal year and referred the draft bill to the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) for ratification, the Capital reported.

The Council of Ministers endorsed the regulation which is drafted to revise the Establishment Regulation of the Ethiopian Railway Corporation. The draft regulation has increased the authorized capital and paid up capital of the Corporation to Birr 221 billion and Birr 120 billion, respectively.

The Council of Ministers endorsed and forwarded the draft Procurement and Asset Management and Mineral Resources Development Proclamations to the House of Peoples’ Representatives.
The Council of Ministers of Ethiopia discussed and approved a draft policy document on National Special Economic Zones. When approving the draft policy document, the Council pointed out that special economic zones contribute in the enhancement of the country’s economy by improving export systems, increasing foreign direct investment, and creating employment opportunities.
