The Council of Ministers endorsed and forwarded the draft Procurement and Asset Management and Mineral Resources Development Proclamations to the House of Peoples’ Representatives.

The draft Procurement and Asset Management Proclamation, if approved by the Parliament, is expected to enhance technology based procurement and strengthen the responsibility and accountability of institutions. On the other hand, the draft Mineral Resources Development Proclamation aims to ensure the proper utilization of mineral resources with a view to protecting future generations and the environment. It also aims to increase foreign exchange from exports and the contribution of the mining industry to the country’s economic growth.
