The Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas announced that Ethiopia had earned 150 million USD from the export of different items of minerals in the first half of this budget year, Walta Information Center reported.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Finance announced that it has obtained $2.96 billion (close to 107 billion birr) from various sources, multilateral and bilateral, in the form of grants and loans in the Ethiopian fiscal year that ended on July 7. The Ministry declared $1.92 billion (69.5 billion birr) of this has been obtained from grants, while the rest was secured from loans.
Ethiopia has obtained $33.14 million from the ten-month export of leather and leather products, Ethiopia’s Leather and Leather Products Industry Research and Development Center announced. The sector has also created employment for over eight thousand workers, it has been learned.
The Ministry of Mines announced Tuesday that it had secured more than 509 million dollars from the mining
sector during in the last fiscal year.
The amount was secured from gold, tantalum and gemstone producing companies and traditional miners, Sinknesh Ejjigu, Minister of Mines, said.
It was reported in July that the Ministry of Mines had collected 104 million birr in royalty fees 98 million birr of which was paid by MIDROC Gold.
The Ministry of Mines (MoM) announced that it has collected USD 281 million in revenue from the export of different minerals during the past nine months in this Ethiopian fiscal year, Walta Information Center (WIC) reported.
