Ethiopia Not Yet Decided on Entering International Debt Market
After Ethiopia received international credit rating, Sufian Ahmed, Minister for Finance and Economic Development, commented the nation is not yet decided whether it should follow other African countries and enter the international debt market, Reuters reported.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Trade and Industry announced Ethiopia has obtained $1.33 billion from exports during the past five months. This stands at 94% of the $1.41-billion-target set for the period.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced $283 million has been secured from mines exports during the past six months. The Ministry made the announecment after a review meeting of its six-month performance.
Ethiopia has obtained $329 million from export trade in the first month of the fiscal year that started on July 8, 2021, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) announced. The amount has shown a 20 percent or $54 million increase compared to the same period last year.
Ethiopia has obtained over $333.93 million from exports in agriculture, manufacturing, mining and other sectors during the one month period from November 10 to December 9, 2021, it has been learned, achieving 99.95 percent of the target set for the period.
