On Friday, April 25, 2014 Ethiopia marked the International Intellectual Property Day, The Ethiopian Herald reported.

The day was marked with different awerness creation and mobilization events. The theme of this year's Ethiopia's marking of the day is “Let’s Realize Our Country’s Renaissance Developing the Film Industry making Intellectual Property Developmental Tool”, according to Awoke Shiferaw, Office Communication Director with the Ethiopian Intellectual Property office.

Awoke also said that marking the Day is also significant to overcome challenges related to safeguard intellectual rights and maximize social and economic benefits.

The Day is marked in Ethiopia for the second time.
