Ethiopia Generates USD 82 Million from Coffee and Tea Export
A revenue of USD Eighty Two million was generated from coffee and tea exports in August achieving 87% of the goal. In August, Ethiopia exported 24,891 tons of coffee, tea and spices of which coffee accounts for the 23,694 tons export. Coffee export, which produced USD 80.61 million, also took the revenue’s majority share.
The income generated from the export of the three agricultural products in July was 15.3% and 1.58% higher in volume and value, respectively.
In the 2017/18 fiscal year, USD 2.8 billion was generated from exports, meeting only 54.1% of the government’s performance target. The International Monetary Fund said the country’s export performance could not fully cover its two-month import bill.

KenGen, Kenya Electricity Generating Company, said the multi-million dollar project it is undertaking in Ethiopia to drill geothermal wells is "on course", with four sets expected to come to completion before the end of 2021.
Ethiopia's Ministry of and Industry announced that $203 million has been obtained in five months from the export of products from manufacturing industries. The amount stands at 94 percent of the $215 million targeted for the period.

Ethiopia showcased its first locally-assembled electric car by Hyundai, Marathon Motors. Once fully charged, the electric car can go for up to 300 kilometres.
