The Ethiopian Communications Authority (ECA) has announced that the bid for two new nationwide telecommunications service licenses has closed today. The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance, in a tweet, has declared bids have been received from two giant telecom operators, MTN Group Limited, and a consortium including Safaricom (Kenya), Vodafone Group (UK), Vodacom Group (South Africa), CDC Group (UK), and Sumitomo Corporation (Japan).
Ethiopia has blended 12.5 million liters of ethanol with benzene in the past fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy.
Ministry of Mines and Energy said over 59.6 million liters of ethanol has been blended with benzene in the last five years.

Ethiopia is working towards increasing the local pharmaceutical industry's market share to 47% as part of its mid-term health sector development plan. This initiative aims to improve access to healthcare and reduce reliance on imported medicines.
