Ethiopia Aims to Collect U.S. $ 2.2 Billion from Manufacturing Sector

Ethiopia aims to create eleven million new jobs in the coming ten years, as per a 10-year development plan devised by Ethiopia's Ministry of Urban Development and Construction.

Ethiopian Meat Producers '-Exporters' Association (EMPEA) has set a target of earning USD 135 million by exporting 25,607 tons of meat products in the current fiscal year. However, achieving this goal remains challenging due to a combination of factors, including rising domestic prices, livestock smuggling, and underutilized export slaughterhouses.

Ethiopia is aiming to increase coffee export to USD 4.6 billion within 15 years and its global coffee market share to 1.26 million Metric Tons by 2033, accoding to Ambassador Zenebe Kebede. The Ambassador revealed the plan during a Coffee Tasting Program in Geneva which was organized by the International Trade Center (ITC). Ambassador Zenebe is the Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.
According to the Ambassador, by increasing the export volume, Ethiopia is also planning to increase its farmers’ income from the product to USD 3.5 billion and provide employment opportunity for 2.7 million people.
Ethiopia aims to attract some 750,000 local and international visitors in the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai, it has been learned. This has been made known after the UAE-Ethiopia Business Advisory Council met with officials at Ethiopia's Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI).
