Ethiopia’s Government aims to set up wind power projects that can create 1,500 Megawatts during the second Growth and Transformation Plan Period (GTP II). The government intends to work on the projects by its own capacity.
For the just started fiscal year, Ethiopia is aiming to make 271 million USD from the export of textile products. Along with the export, the country plans to create 30,000 new jobs through the textile sub sector.
Ethiopia is aiming to generate 30 billion USD from the export of garment and textile by the year 2025. This is a very ambitious target to hit for a country whose shipments are only 115million USD 8 years before the year 2025.
Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) said it plans to collect $9 billion in the next ten years. The Ministry aims to achieve this mainly by increasing the export potential of Ethiopia's manufacturing industry. The Ministry also announced that it aims to make Ethiopia in the top 50 countries in ease of doing business.
For the current fiscal year, the Ministry of Revenues (MoR) has set a goal of collecting Birr 529 billion in taxes. This represents a 17% increase over the prior fiscal year.
