The Ethiopian Ministry of Urban Development and Construction revealed the final draft of the urban housing policy and strategy.
The strategy proposes the increase of housing through eight modalities to solve housing shortage in urban areas.

The document was presented to regional and federal officials, members of the House of Representatives, private real estate developers and experts in the sector.

The government will play an important role in developing urban housing as it is to be the sole executor of five of the eight means of increasing available housing according to the housing policy.

Ursus SA, one of Poland’s biggest maker of agricultural equipments is to visit Ethiopia to explore investment opportunities.

“We want to invest in the country through joint venture with local investors to assemble agriculture machinery for the local and regional market,” said Krzysztof Sekula, Ursus deputy commercial director.

Ethiopia has received a donation of 250 ventilators and other critical care equipment from the US government, to help combat COVID-19.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States announced it will back the bonds that were issued by Ethiopian Airlines. The Airlines issued the bonds to buy ten Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplanes.

It was mentioned that the Airlines received a competitive interest rate from the bank. The agreement is good news to both parties because it helps the American export sector and Ethiopian Airlines will benefit from the financing program according to EXIM Bank Chairman and President Fred P. Hochberg.

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) is to be the co financer on the deal it was also mentioned.

The United States investment in Ethiopia reached USD 4 billion. Mr. Girma Biru, Ethiopian Ambassador to the US, stated that several US companies and Ethiopians abroad contributed to this growth, Walta Information Center Reported.
