The Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Roads Authority awarded three more projects to contractors. The contractors selected for the road construction project are the Chinese Road and Bridge Corporation, Gebrehiwot Ekubemariam Construction and Satcon Construction.
The projects are estimated to be worth a total of 847 million birr.
The tender issued by the authority in June had attracted 17 bidders from which pool the three companies were selected.
A total of 785.39 Km roads are to be upgraded and built with a government allocated budget of 13.4 billion birr. The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) concluded a contractual agreement with 10 contractors, of which 5 are local firms, for the construction of nine road projects.

Four brand-new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will be powered by Trent XWB-97 engines thanks to a Total Care servicing contract negotiated by Rolls-Royce and Ethiopian Airlines. According to the deal, Ethiopian Airlines will have predictable costs for the servicing and upkeep of the engines. The agreement was inked while Ethiopian Airlines was present at the Derby, UK, office of Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace.
Ethiopian Airlines has decided to take Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines and long-term TotalCare® support worth $500m to power six Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
