East African Bottling S.C, Producer of Coca Cola in Ethiopia completed expansion project at its plant located in Dire Dawa, last week, Fortune Reported.
The US$20 million expansion project has enabled the plant to increase its production capacity five times. Currently, the plant have the capacity to fill 36,000 bottled beverages hourly.
Addis Ababa is to house the East African e-commerce center. The e-commerce center, originally planned to be opened in Kenya, is changing its location to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, due to the benefits it can garner from the focus given to the innovation and technology center in Ethiopia.
Various parties from the East African countries of Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda are to hold a regional meeting dubbed ‘Great Rift Valley Energy Summit’ to discuss regional oil and gas potential. The two day Summit is to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from the 3rd to the 4th of December.
It is expected that government representatives, executives of international and regional oil and gas companies and Non Governmental Organizations will take this opportunity to deliberate the regional potential, goals and challenges as well as discussing projects, time scales and schedules planned for the rest of the current year and beyond in developing the regional resources.
The second phase construction of Ethiopia’s Eastern Industry Zone is to be launched soon as foreign companies’ demands increase. According to the zone’s Vice Director, Jiao Yongshun, for the time being, neither land nor warehouses are available in the zone for interested investors. As a result, new interested investors are unable to either rent a warehouse or construct their own plant inside the industry zone.
The Zone which is located in Oromia Region is Ethiopia's first industrial zone.

The Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority (EBA) said on October 3, 2015, it will issue licenses for 22 television channels and 13 commercial radio stations in five years to come.
