The Colorado-based MWH Global, an engineering, construction, and management company has  opened an office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which the company said will serve as a center for its construction, engineering and administrative staff in Africa. MWH Global has been involved  in Ethiopian hydro-power projects since the 1970s.

The State owned utility company, Ethiopia Electric Power Company (EEPco) selected MWH Global as owner's engineers for the 300-MW Tekeze hydroelectric power station in 1998, and the company more recently provided similar services for the 254-MW Genale-Dawa Multipurpose Hydro-power Project.

South Africa’s Nampak, leading manufacturer of beverage, food and non-perishable packaging, announced plans to open glass bottle factory in Nigeria and Ethiopia with an outlay of USD 155 million, according to Reuters.

The Johannesburg-based Company, Nampak Ltd. had inked a deal with partners to build glass-bottle manufacturing plants in Nigeria and Ethiopia, Bloomberg reported.

Nathan Associates Inc., an American Company which has been entrusted with the exhaustive study of Ethiopia’s logistics performance and logistics strategy has submitted the final report of its study.

National Airways, a private airline in Ethiopia, is to begin flight services to the self-declared State of Puntland, according to The Reporter.
