MIDROC Ethiopia PLC announced that it has agreed with Marriott International to operate Westin Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Westin Hotel, owned by MIDROC, is located close to the African Union headquarters in Addis.
“As we build on our long-term relationship with Marriott International, we look forward to bringing the Westin brand to Ethiopia,” Jamal Ahmed, Midroc Investment Group's CEO, remarked.
Following the signing of the agreement, Marriott's East Africa Director of Lodging Development, Yasin Munshi, said his company is “delighted" to further strengthen its ties with MIDROC Ethiopia, adding the new deal will “further enhance our footprint in Ethiopia with this landmark project.”
