EU concluded a US$287.26 million Agreement with the Ethiopian Government
The European Union concluded a US$287.26 million development grant agreement with the Ethiopian government on Monday November 25, 2013, Reuters reported.
The grant will be used to finance road construction and projects focusing on maternal health and drought resilience.
The European Union (EU), through its Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) Directorate-General, has provided UNICEF with two million euros to support areas in Ethiopia that have been hit by desert locusts. The funding will help support communities in Afar, Amhara, Oromia, Somali, and Tigray regions that are highly affected by desert locust.
