Ethiopian Airlines announced that it would launch the modern e-commerce cargo service center which is being constructed at a cost of USD 50 million in mid-2023. The airline held discussions with stakeholders following the expansion of e-commerce around the globe with a view to maintaining its competitiveness and upgrading its services.

Ethiopian Airlines announced that its five star hotel, which is being built with the objectives of accommodating transit passengers and promoting stopover tourism, would commence operating in two months time, upon completion of its first phase construction.
According to Ato Tewolde Gebremariam, the Airline’s Group CEO, the first phase of the hotel will accommodate 373 cozy rooms when it begins service.

The frequency will ultimately return to the pre-COVID19 levels on 1 March 2023 following the lifting of restrictions by the Government of China. As of 6 February 2023, Ethiopian Airlines will operate daily flights to Guangzhou while increasing its weekly flights to Beijing and Shanghai to four each and maintains the trice weekly operation to Chengdu.
