Ethiopian Airlines and Boeing Celebrate 10th Anniversary of Africa’s First 787 Dreamliner Delivery
Ethiopian Airlines and Boeing [NYSE: BA] today celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first 787 Dreamliner delivery to the African carrier. Over the past decade, Ethiopian Airlines has utilized the outstanding capabilities of the 787 to sustainably grow its longhaul network across the world, making its hub in Addis Ababa one of the leading gateways for international travel in Africa. Ethiopian Airlines was the first airline on the continent to take delivery of the 787 and today operates a combined fleet of twenty-seven 787-8s and 787-9s that play an integral role in its long-haul fleet.
Ethiopian Airlines and Customs Commission have signed an agreement to improve their services for the increasing number of passengers and goods. It is expected that the agreement will enhance customer service for Ethiopian Airlines and enable the Customs Commission to provide faster and more reliable services. The agreement is also important for controlling prohibited and restricted goods and ensuring transit goods are handled appropriately.
