The President of Oromia Regional State Shimels Abdissa announced that various activities were undertaken to promote Oromia tourism destinations internationally. The President said this during the opening program of Oromia Tourism and Technology Week.

The tourism and technology week opened today at Skylight hotel in the presence of Shimels Abdissa – the President of Oromia, Nasisse Chali – the Minister of Toursim, Lelisse Duga – Oromia Tourism Commission Commissioner, and other officials.

The Oromia Tourism Commission has announced a space tourism initiative in partnership with the Ethiopia Space Science and Geospatial Institute, marking a step to transform the region’s tourism sector.

The Oromo Diaspora Festival was officially launched for the first time on August 2, 2015, at the Oromo Cultural Center, Walta Information Center reported.

The Petroleum and Energy Authority has announced that 2,041,135.332 metric tons of fuel were purchased for domestic use during the first six months of the current fiscal year. This represents 92 percent of the planned target of 2,216,189 metric tons, according to Bekele Kuma, Communications Director of the Petroleum and Energy Authority.
