
The Petroleum and Energy Authority has announced that 2,041,135.332 metric tons of fuel were purchased for domestic use during the first six months of the current fiscal year. This represents 92 percent of the planned target of 2,216,189 metric tons, according to Bekele Kuma, Communications Director of the Petroleum and Energy Authority.
The purchases included 313,030 metric tons of gasoline, 1,283,801 metric tons of white diesel, 403,017 metric tons of jet fuel, 13,390 metric tons of light black diesel, and 26,925 metric tons of heavy black diesel. This performance reflects a 1 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
On the sales side, 2,048,687 metric tons of petroleum products were sold during the first half of the fiscal year, achieving 97 percent of the planned target of 2,112,602 metric tons. Fuel sales performance also showed a 7 percent improvement compared to the same period last year.
