The Oromo Diaspora Festival was officially launched for the first time on August 2, 2015, at the Oromo Cultural Center, Walta Information Center reported.

High level government officials and members of the Oromo Diaspora community attended the opening ceremony.

Foreign Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom appreciated the role played by members of the Oromo Diaspora community.

Dr. Tedros also conveyed a concise statement to the members of Diaspora community on Ethiopia’s impressive growth and its future trajectory, development path as well as its endeavor in meeting most of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
