Ethiopia: Seminar on Promotion of Industrial Development Launched on Monday

aaccsaA seminar and workshop aimed at promoting industrial development organized by the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association (AACCSA) and Chamber Trade Sweden was launched on Monday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Speaking on the launching of the two-day seminar and workshop, Chamber Trade Sweden CEO Charlotte Kalin said Swedish investors are interested to engage in flower production in Ethiopia.

Nyota Minerals Planning to Sell 75% of its Gold Mine Project in Ethiopia

nyota-mineralsNyota Minerals has confirmed a plan to sell 75 percent of its Tulu Kapi gold mine project in Ethiopia, Proactive Investors UK reported.

In return Nyota Minerals will receive £1 million of cash and £3.5 million in shares, and it will retain a 25 percent interest in the project.

Ethiopia: ERCA Training Medium Taxpayers on Using its E-file System

ercaThe Ethiopian Revenues & Customs Authority (ERCA) launched a training for medium taxpayers on using its electronic tax return filing system online on October 14, 2013, Fortune reported.

Currently, only large taxpayers with annual turnover of more than 27 million Ethiopian birr are using the e-filing system.

Ethiopia: Revenues Authority Collected 25.3B Revenue in Q1

ercaThe Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) announced, it has collected 25.3 billion Ethiopian birr revenue from various income titles during the first quarter of the current Ethiopian Fiscal Year, ERTA reported.

Education and communication director with the Authority, Efrem Mekonen told the press on Saturday that the sum was obtained from domestic tax, foreign trade and lottery sales.
