The governments of Ethiopia and Poland Tuesday signed an agreement providing for US$ 50 million to promote agricultural modernization, the Ethiopian Herald reported.

The fund will be used to finance delivery of agricultural goods to be imported from Poland.

Finance and Economic Development Minister Sufian Ahmed on the occasion said the assistance would support agricultural modernization activities.

Polish Ambassador to Ethiopia Jacek Jankowski also said the agreement is part of his government's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia.
