Ethiopia: Petram Introduces Device which Helps Taxpayers Store Data

petramPetram PLC introduced Sales Data Collector (SDC), a new device that helps taxpayers store data without paper and sends end-of-day report (Z-report) automatically to the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority.

The device is developed by BMC International, a Japanese company that helped the Ethiopian government launch its fiscal cash register program.

Ethiopia: State Constructed 1,600 KM Rural Road

Over 1,600 km rural road was constructed in Oromia State through the Universal Rural Road Access Program (URRAP) during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the state roads authority said.

During a meeting held in Adama Town on Friday, the Authority's Deputy General Manager Abdo Geleta said the State has made meaningful progress in expanding rural roads.

Ethiopia Earned US$135 Million from Manufacturing Sector in Q1

The Ethiopian Ministry of Industry announced, more than US$135 million has been earned from the manufacturing sector in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

Ministry Communications Corporate Directorate Director, Melaku Taye, told Walta Information Center, that the stated amount was secured from the exports of textile and garment, leather and leather products, meat and dairy products as well as food, beverage and pharmaceutical products.

Ethiopia: State Earned over 192.3M Birr from Tourism during Q1

Amhara State has earned over 192.3 million birr revenue from tourism during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Ethiopian News Agency reported citing the state culture, tourism and parks bureau.

Simeneh Anteneh, public relation expert with the bureau, told Ethiopian News Agency that the state earned the revenue from 1.3 million tourists who visited tourist attractions in the state.

Berhan Bank Posted 52.29M Birr Profit for FY 2012/13

berhanbankBerhan International Bank S.C, announced 52.29 million birr profit, a 55.21 percent growth for 2012/13 fiscal year, Fortune reported.

The bank announced during its annual assembly on Saturday, November 9, 2013, that its total assets increased by 71 percent to 2.197 billion birr in the reporting period.
