Ethiopia’s Public-Private Partnerships Directorate General (PPP-DG) has issued a Request for Pre-Qualification (RfQ) for up to 500 MW of solar power generating capacity. The 500 MW is divided into four projects: Humera, Mekele, Welenchitti and Weranso.

Ethiopian’s Group CEO, Tewolde GebreMariam, said the airline is considering obtaining China’s Comac C919 passenger planes. Mr. Tewolde told the Chinese state media Xinhua that Ethiopian is working to follow up the progress of the C919 planes by forming a joint committee with their Chinese counterparts.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Sugar Corporation, has issued an invitation of sealed responses to its Request for Information (RFI), aimed at "completing the necessary pre-privatization activities" of 13 sugar projects. Some of the mentioned projects are fully completed and operational, while the rest are partially completed.

Seven companies have been given licenses to perform mineral exploration in Ethiopia, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced.
The Free State of Bavaria has opened its Africa Office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The office is set to help foster stronger business ties between Ethiopia and the German State of Bavaria, and to also help develop cooperation projects, it was noted during the opening ceremony.
