An Ethiopian delegation led by Ahmed Shide, Ethiopian Minister of Finance, met and discussed with US based companies in Washington DC, on the side of spring 2019 meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WB).
According to a tweet by Fitsum Arega, Ethiopia’s ambassador to the United States, Mr. Ahmed met with companies “interested in green energy investment which Ethiopia is well known for” including General Electric.
During the discussion, present were also companies working in other sectors such as healthcare and aviation, Ambassador Fitsum added.
The spring meetings of IMF and WB are attended by around 2,800 delegates from member states, along with 350 organization representative observers. Approximately 550 accredited civil society members also take part in the meetings.
