Ethiopia: ERA Awarded Sur 2.1 Billion Birr Road Project Contract
Sur Construction has concluded a 2.1 Billion Birr contract with Ethiopian Road Authority (ERA) for the design and construction of 55 Km road.

Two Chinese construction companies are awarded two road construction contracts worth five Billion Birr by the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA). The roads to be constructed are in Eastern and Southern Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) concluded a 2.6 Billion Birr road construction and Omo Kuraz Sugar Factory designing projects agreement with the Chinese Construction Company Limited (CCCC) on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. The project is said to include constructing roads, Omo-Factory Junction 4 and 6, designing Omo Kuraz sugar factory, and constructing a bridge over the Omo River.
Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) concluded 5.7 billion Birr agreement for the upgrade and administration of Neqemte – Bure Road of Ethiopia.
The agreement is concluded for the upgrade of the 257 kilometers gravel road to asphalt road. The agreement also includes administering and maintaining the road once the upgrade is done.
Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) disclosed it has completed 6 projects in the past 9 months of Ethiopia’s fiscal year. The projects consumed a total of 5.3 billion Birr and helped the Authority to raise its road network to 123,770 kilometers. This is an increase of 13,356 kilometers from where it stood 9 months ago.
