The construction of 3 industrial parks has been awarded to 3 different Chinese contractors by the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC). The construction of the parks is said to cost 10.5 billion Birr.
Ethiopia’s Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity (MWIE) disclosed the construction of Genale Dawa III hydro-electric power project has reached 91 percent completion rate. By the time the power plant starts generating energy, it is expected to generate 254 Megawatts.
Ethiopia has started to construct new airport for an estimated cost of 748 million Birr and dubbed it Nekemete Airport. The foundation stone for the construction of the airport was laid 2 years back.
Tendaho Irrigation Dam has been completed after consuming 8 more years of its scheduled timeframe, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity announced. The dam is built in Afar State and has the capacity of holding 1.8 billion cubic meter water. It can also irrigate 60,000 hectares of land.
Construction of 4 tunnels which are part of Meqele-Woldeya-Hara Gebeyehu railway line commenced, Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) noted. Upon completion the railway line will have 8 tunnels.
