Awash Bank signed an agreement with Service Cops aiming to make digital microloans accessible to its 12 million customers. According to Service Cops, the digital microloan service will also reach non-bank customers in the future.
Awash Bank, one of the first private banks in Ethiopia, announced it has made a gross profit of a little over 1 billion Birr. The profit shows 135 million Birr increase when compared to the fiscal year previous to the last year. The performance is a 13.4 percent hike.
Awash Bank is named the best bank in Ethiopia by Global Finance magazine for 2024, further solidifying its position among the top financial institutions on the African continent. This recognition places Awash Bank within the elite group of the 36 leading banks across Africa.
Awash International Bank S.C. (AIB) launched a new core banking system called Fusion Banking Essence (FBE). This system replaced the previous one dubbed Bank Master.
Embracing a vision to be one of the East Africa’s top private banks by 2025, Awash Bank S.C concluded a partnership agreement with the global financial services firm KPMG to devise a comprehensive strategy for the bank titled “Transforming AIB: Vision 2025.”
