Addis Ababa is ready to host a trade fair and conference on the trade and investment relations between German and Africa this week. Subsequent to the recent increase in oil prices, the Addis Ababa City Transport Bureau has announced updates to minibus tax tariffs, effective today December 17, 2021. The tariff increase is ten cents per kilometer for minibuses (1 birr, from the previous 90 cents), and five cents per kilometer for medium-sized ("Higer") buses (45 cents, from the previous 45 cents).
Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa is going to build bus rapid transit line for the first time in history. The Addis Ababa Road and Transport Bureau concluded an agreement with 3 contractors that will design the work and construct the lines.
The Bureau contracted with SAFEGE SA, French company and two local contractors.
